History
The Macallan Fine Oak 30 Year is a limited edition single malt that embodies the rich heritage of The Macallan distillery, established in 1824. Nestled on a ridge above the River Spey, the Easter Elchies House has served as the heart of The Macallan for over three centuries. The distillery’s origins trace back to 1820 when Alexander Reid cultivated barley and created the estate’s first licensed distillery. Today, the estate spans 370 acres, with dedicated fields for Minstrel barley. The meticulous production process, including malting, mashing, and double distillation in small copper stills, ensures a whisky with a distinctive flavor profile, characterized by its richness and complexity. After distillation, the spirit is matured in selected casks, allowing it to develop the depth and character that The Macallan is renowned for.
